It’s fair to say 2021 has been a bit gloomy so far.
With dreary weather and lockdown restrictions getting us down we thought it’s high time to add a bit of sunshine to our lives.
At Apples & Pears we find one of the easiest ways to brighten up our days is to dress for the mood we want to achieve – and today we need something happy and cheerful!
Although there is always a time and a place for blacks and greys, to bring a smile to our faces only the cheeriest of yellow tones will fit the bill.
So, here’s a quick look at some of the sunniest outfits we have in store at the moment.
Ochre Striped Midi Dress
This v neck midi dress will certainly brighten your day, not only because of its beautiful ochre colouring but also because it is so very versatile. Pretty dashed stripe fabric is teamed with a flattering high waistline, and a slight kick out at the hem making it easy to dress up or down to suit the occasion. (If, after reading this we haven’t convinced you of the joy of yellow tones, this dress is also available in sage green).
Yellow Burnout Print Top
With the calendar looking pretty darn bare, casual and comfy outfits are definitely getting the most wear at the moment, at least with the Apples & Pears team. And this burn-out detail top in confident, sunny yellow, always makes us smile when we spot it in the drawer. Made of a heavier jersey style fabric, it features a striking abstract pattern and drapes really nicely when on.
Ochre Yellow Long Sleeved Blouse
This gorgeous ochre pop-over blouse with black and white floral print has proven so popular that we only have a few sizes left in stock. Long sleeves make it great for cooler months. The collar and cuffs mean it’s formal enough to wear for work meetings, but it also looks great teamed with black leggings or denim for a more relaxed look.
Grey and Yellow Print Blouse
If you aren’t quite ready to go all out with the yellow, this top provides a more sedate zing of colour. A splash of yellow makes the intricate grey and white print pop, particularly around the neckline. It’s both really comfy and suitably smart for those dreaded work Zoom calls, and at just £14.99 it’s also a bit of a bargain!
Lemon Print Sun Dress with Swing Skirt
Finally, the sunniest of all outfits we have in store is this gorgeous dress which is a real favourite with the Apples & Pears team, models and customers alike. It makes us think of sipping cocktails in the sunshine, and although probably best suited to warmer weather it would still look fab teamed with tights or leggings and a cardie while we wait for the temperature to rise. We particularly love how the elasticated back ensures this dress sits beautifully on the bust. And, with a concealed side zip and wide skirt it would look stunning with a petticoat for a more vintage vibe.
