There are lots of new looks for the season ahead and you’re sure to find some that you love (and some that you wouldn’t be seen dead in!) There is a wide palate of colours to check out with some fun fashion styles. All we need now is a beautiful sunny summer! Let’s take a peek at five of our favourites.
Crayola Colours From tomato red to canary yellow with emerald green and bright blue - these are real summer colours. Embrace this look by dressing head to toe in one colour, choosing either the same shade for all outfit and accessories or using pale and darker variations. These bright exciting colours are especially great for beach and holiday wear and if you normally avoid brights this could be the season to give them a go.
Pastels Okay so if statement colours aren’t your thing, delicate pastels are also a big look this summer. One shouldered dresses and unusual statement sleeves are proving that pastels can be edgy and not just for the wedding look! Stripes are really popular so how about taking your inspiration from Neapolitan ice cream and combining cream and pink stripes? Also think delicate sugared almond and, shades of palest green or violet which are also really big news for shoes and accessories.
Wet Look The shiny look makes us wonder if designers have an insight into the weather forecast this season, as transparent rain macs and black vinyl dresses were featured in a number of catwalk collections for this summer. Also, sportswear is still really popular but to mix with dressed up pieces, so don’t let the new shell suits scare you – maybe team a jacket with a pretty floral dress.
Floral Dresses Floral dresses are always part of summer and this year is no exception, but the new look ones have puff sleeves or maybe wide unusual wide or bell-shaped sleeves. Checks and ginghams will also be popular in reds and blues for a folksy look. Wear with cowboy boots or maybe trainers for a look that’s this season.
Accessories Clumpy trainers and bum bags are back and also belt bags. For those who like a large practical bag these will be popular too. Big earrings are a must, the bigger and brighter the better. Shoes are in all those Crayola colours and as an extra new trend feathers and fringes are used to decorate everything from clothes to footwear.
So as you can see it’s a summer for lots of different looks with some returning from former years but with a revamp.
