1.Stripes
Horizontal, vertical or diagonal, stripes are everywhere this season! Designers used stripes in a rainbow of colours, but black and white was especially popular.

2.Monochrome Checks
In all sizes of check and all types, from dogs tooth and gingham to large windowpane check. Black and white are the smartest, especially when teamed with coloured accessories. One checked item is enough at a time, picking out one colour for accessories. A checked coat or tailored jacket looks great with a simple dress in a plain colour.

3.Maroon
This is the key colour this season, and it goes so well with other warm autumn shades such as black and chocolate brown. Whether for smart workwear or cosy leisurewear it has a warmth and depth that suits most complexions. For evening wear choose silver shoes and jewellery. Soft fabrics like velvet are great in these warm shades.  Other key colours to look for this season are petrol blue, teal and khaki.

4.Duster Coats and Jackets
A duster coat is full or calf length, and oversized in a lightweight fabric.  Long jackets and waistcoats in semi sheer floaty fabric are everywhere this season. Pair them with a fitted dress or top and skinny jeans underneath. It’s a great way of showing off your curves in a fitted outfit, without feeling to exposed. This look is really popular with celebrities like Kim Kardashian.

5.Bold Print Leggings
A welcome return this summer and even more popular this autumn but with a twist! Vivid colours and bold patterns give a new twist to an old favourite. Try stripes or checks too.

These looks are all really wearable, and will see you through autumn and into winter.
