It’s coming up to half term holidays and time to break with your normal routine, if you’re a mum. Half-term can be a time when you don’t have a moment to yourself. So to help you here’s our five outfit tips when you’re constantly on the go and time is in short supply:
1. Keep it Simple
A nice well fitted pair of jeans, trousers or leggings teamed with a white T-shirt and maybe an oversized checked lumberjack shirt, are ideal for running round after the kids. High heels are out when you need to move fast so opt for boots or clean and tidy trainers or ballerina pumps. 2. A Warm Waterproof Jacket or Coat
Essential for those sudden showers; and with big pockets to hold all the paraphernalia that kids collect! You need it to be made of washable fabric and in a colour that doesn’t show every mark. A lightweight Parka jacket is perfect. Whatever you choose, have an attached hood – you won’t have enough hands for umbrellas!
3. Big Bags
A necessity - keep clutch bags and small bags for evenings out! A large bag, shoulder or rucksack style is essential for its compartments and pockets. Choose a fabric that’s waterproof and wipe-able that doesn’t stain, such as canvas. Large cloth bags are also good as you can throw them in the washing machine.
4. Comfy Clothes
Smart sweat-shirts and joggings bottoms are great for trips to the park or country walks. Warm and made of a fabric that moves with you choose colours that you love. Wear warm layers to fight the chilly weather this time of year.
5. And Finally
The most useful tip of all is to lay out your clothes the night before at bedtime. It’ll save you loads of stress in the morning and what to wear is one thing you won’t have to think about.
Have a great week with your kids – enjoy the chaos!
