Many wrongly assume that the rules of body shape don’t apply to plus size women, and I have even seen articles where ‘plus size’ is mentioned as one type of body shape! Look around you – we are all different shapes and sizes. Once you understand which one you are, you can begin to make some great choices when you shop for clothes. The complements will start to flood in!
In basic terms there are 5 different shapes:
Hourglass - broad shoulders level with wide hips, and often large chest size.
Apple - smaller on the top half with rounded tummies and well defined legs.
Pear - small on the top half with hips wider than the shoulders.
Inverted Triangle - Wide shoulders and top half with slim shapely legs.
Straight - hips and shoulders in line, often with small chest and little waist definition.
