Here at Apples and Pears we must confess to being very new to the world of podcasts – Jade’s initiation was just recently when she was kidnapped by a friend and taken to the London Podcast Festival to watch a live recording of The Guilty Feminist. It was a revelation and now of course, she’s obsessed and introduced us all to the joy of a good podcast! So, we felt it was the perfect time to search out the best podcasts dealing with plus size fashion, fitness and foibles. Here’s a selection for you to try:
As recommended by Apples and Pears customers, you beautiful, well-read bunch!
With Christmas over and 2016 fast approaching there’s a perfect opportunity to make some simple fashion changes that could really help us to feel good about ourselves. Here are the five resolutions we’ll be making this year:
Some fashion trends have a knack of returning every few years – even if they weren’t particularly attractive or practical the first time round! For instance right now, just as we have all decided that we love slim and skinny fit jeans – flares are making a come-back. Let’s have a look at three returners an see if you’ll fall for them all over again!
After a FREEZING start, the summer has finally arrived!! With the sunshine comes the time to get the summer clothes out again. Many of us Brits don’t find dressing for the warm weather very easy! Exposing bits that haven’t seen the light of day all winter, and feeling comfortable in what you’re wearing can be a challenge.
In our latest series of blogs, we will consider how to look and feel your best in the warm weather and how to adapt this summer’s fashion trends to suit your shape. We’ll also be sharing some of our favourite beauty blogs with you.
If you want to share an article with us about summer fashion or beauty, whether you have written it or maybe one you have just read and loved, use #BeautifulSummer on Twitter or post it to our wall on Facebook or Google+ so we can share it with everyone.
Together we can all look and feel amazing this summer!
What is it about?
This is an online magazine with loads of tips, reviews and information on plus size fashion.
Why we love it!
There are tons of fashion magazines out there, but not enough, in our opinion, that feature plus size clothes, and this one is packed with great information.
There are some great video guides on here about how to wear certain trends, and dressing to flatter your shape. This one about how to do the ‘bandaged dress’ for plus size women is great!

What is it about?
This site is all about plus size fashion, like many other blogs we've covered. But what makes it different is its focus on positive body image and making women feel great about themselves. This is an attitude that we try to project here at A&P.
Why we love it
Great attitude, great fashion, lots about how to put different pieces together.
This is a great article on dressing for a night on the town.

This time of year, we all plan to make a new start and resolve to change our habits. Many of us will have started 2013 with good intentions to give up chocolate, exercise more or lose weight. According to the Mail Online, most people will have given up already, with 10th January being the day that most people throw in the towel.
A recent study found that this failure leaves us all even more despondent than before. Maybe we are over ambitious with our goals, for example resolving to lose several stones in weight, and then giving up when it doesn’t happen quickly enough
As if January isn’t a miserable enough month already! Maybe it’s time to be a bit kinder to ourselves. So just be healthier, look after yourself and resolve to make the best of what you have. Make 2013 the year you learn to be the best that you can be. Learn what colours and shapes suit you now, and be the best you can.
Over the next few months we will be posting lots of help and advice about fashion for different shapes, and sharing some of our favourite hair, fashion and make-up blogs. So make sure you don’t miss out and sign up for our newsletter.
