At last Summer is here and as temperatures soar its a great time to pack away those dark separates and embrace pretty pastels and patterns. Even if you aren't usually a dress person, there are some beautiful and flattering shapes around this summer. From skaters to midi to full length maxis there is something to suit every shape.
Bold patterns and prints are this years news. Get used to them gradually if you're used to plain colours, then accessories a bright print with more neutral colours.
If you have a large bust and hips with a smaller waist - a classic hourglass shape - skater dresses can look amazing. The fuller skirt skims over your hips and stomach, and you can add a belt to really highlight your waist.
If you're not confident in getting your legs out then a calf length dress in a pretty print is for you. Shorter styles with leggings underneath also look good. If floral prints feel too girly then opt for a paisley, geometric or swirly pattern - big and bold or neat and understated. If you are used to wearing jeans or trousers, wearing a dress can feel quite daunting and maybe you only wear them for special occasions. But pick the right shape and you can feel a million dollars!
A shrug is the perfect accessory to your summer dress. Perfect for chilly summer evenings or to cover your arms. Our lightweight Bali shrugs are perfect for the summer as they don't add too much bulk, and come in a huge range of colours - in fact new colours have just been added!

Jeans are one of the most difficult items to shop for, but they are a staple of any wardrobe. The days of scratchy stiff denim are over and the new softer feel fabric with a bit of stretch makes it easier for curvy girls to wear.
Denim is extremely versatile and comes in a variety of shades and variations from classic denim blue through to pastel and stonewashed. Paler shades go really well with this seasons pastel colours. Most versatile are greys and smart black colours.
Mid length denim shorts with a white T shirt and sandals are ideal holiday wear, and short dungarees are very popular this year, worn with a breton stripe tee. beware though - full length dungarees are best left to the Waltons!
Shorts can look great with dark tights underneath on those cooler British summer days! Pale blue jeans or skirt look classy when teamed with a baby pink top and wedge sandals. Black jeans are always chic and can take you from work to an evening out, with a fitted blouse or a smart jacket.
