This is the third year we have named a top model as part of the Miss Voluptuous Pageant, and we are delighted to be working with Meg who not only won our award, but was also named Miss V Wales.

22-year-old Meg stood out from the crowd for us at this year’s pageant, which was held online due to Covid restrictions.

Her personality really shone through and her body positive attitude fits perfectly with the Apples & Pears ethos.

And when she joined the other Miss V queens to model some of our top summer outfits, we knew we had made the right choice.

Meg grew up in North Wales and is currently loving life as a mum to her three-year-old son who she admits really keeps her on her toes!

In her spare time Meg enjoys swimming and teaching Morris dancing.

Since becoming involved with Miss V she says her confidence has come on leaps and bounds.

Meg explained: “It really has been the best year of my life. I really love being involved in Miss V as I feel I have found my people.

“I suffer quite badly with my mental health and over the past year I have lost a number of friends who just didn’t understand. Miss V means so much to me, because I have formed really close friendships with all of the current queens, and the director Natalie has been amazing, checking in on me all the time.

“It has really helped me to come out of my shell and it’s also given me the chance to help other young people with mental health issues by fundraising for the charity Young Minds.”

When Miss V director Natalie Carley met Meg she knew straight away she would be a perfect fit.

She said: “Meg has a unique authenticity that she made evident from the start. She stayed entirely true to herself as a finalist and shone both in her interview and in her stage performances. Meg's pureness of spirit makes her a dream to work with as a director - she r ally doesn't realise how fantastic she is! I can't wait to see her realise her potential and hope that we as a system can support her in doing that.”

Apples & Pears Clothing has been a sponsor for the Miss V pageant for the past three years and it was fantastic to welcome Meg and the other queens to Mersea to model some of our favourite summer dresses.

Meg said: “The photoshoot was such good fun and my very favourite dress was the coral maxi dress.

“We had spent all day looking at the weather and hoping it wouldn’t rain. And as soon as we got on the beach the sun came out!”

We love the body positive message the Miss V pageant promotes. Meg's message for all of our readers? “Don’t try and fit in to the mould society has made for you.” We couldn’t agree more.
