British weather is such a mixed bag it’s hard to work out what you should be wearing from one day to the next, especially with the changing seasons.
In the space of a week, you can go from chilly grey days where the heating is on the brink of kicking in to scorching hot temperatures which far out perform those at the height of summer.
To save you from experiencing multiple wardrobe disasters the smart way to dress when the weather is having a wobble is most definitely layering.
The trick to wearing layers is when you dress for the day think about building up your outfit so you are able to strip back and still feel comfortable.
As well as offering more flexibility it also means you get to enjoy items such as cotton dresses and chiffon blouses for more of the year, rather than limiting their wear to just the warmer months.

Pink dip hem dress
This dress is a dream when it comes to layering. It looks lovely in summer with bare legs, but equally fab when paired with tights and a cardie. Need a bit more flexibility temperature-wise? Then try popping a thin, long sleeved white t-shirt underneath.

The perfect base layer for a weekend look, this black and white striped top will sit brilliantly under a shirt or jumper. Or if you want it as your top layer pop a vest top on underneath.

This blue paisley swing top is cut in an ever-popular longer line to sit just as you like it over leggings or jeggings. Layer up with a cropped jumper to leave some of the top on show and team with leggings and ankle boots to complete the look.
