From time to time an occasion arises which is maybe out of your comfort zone.  Having a great outfit can really boost your confidence and calm your nerves. We've chosen three events and gathered our top tips to help!

1.  Job Interview
It’s important to look smart and professional, whatever type of job you’re going for. So a jacket and skirt or smart trousers or a suit is essential – well-fitting and comfortable. Colour wise, black navy or dark grey can be teamed with a coloured blouse underneath, with shoes to match. Keep jewellery to a minimum. This is a time for smart and understated - you want to be remembered for your credentials and suitability, not for your clothes!

2.  Parents Evenings
Parents evenings can be as nerve racking for the parents as it is for the pupils! Talking to teachers can seem a bit daunting, especially if your own school memories aren't great! There’s no need to look frumpy but equally not like you’re on the way to a party afterwards! Choose a simple dress or separates - a look that shows you consider the event important. Keep your look smart and simple, not too casual and just thrown together.

3.  Wedding Guest
Whether it’s a formal wedding or more relaxed, rule number one is don’t upstage the bride! This means choosing an outfit that’s smart and flattering and is definitely not white! Take into account the season and dress comfortably as it’s a long day. Forget low necks and minis- simplicity is key Match colour with hair and skin tones and take a shrug or jacket as evenings can be chilly. As for shoes wear new shoes in first and if you opt for heels, pop a pair of ballet pumps in your bag for dancing in the evening. Talking of bags, one large enough to hold a comb, mobile phone emergency make-up and wipes and those pumps. Then relax and enjoy!

Remember – for special events first impressions are made on the way you look and knowing you look good gives you that extra confidence boost.
