When you’re a mum with young kids your time is never your own – you have to be smart for work but time spent at home caring for your child leaves none for yourself, and with the long school holidays around the corner and maybe even younger children to care for too, time to yourself is even more precious. What you need is some quick and easy outfits which will adapt to whatever activities the day presents. So here is our guide to three looks to help you choose quickly and to be comfortable while looking stylish.

  • Leggings And Tunics
Jeans are great but leggings, with their stretchy feel and lighter fabric make them perfect for running around after playful children, and are cooler too. Teamed with a colourful summery tunic and sandals or trainers and also easy to wash and dry in a hurry you can have several of each so that you can ring the changes. If the weather is really hot choose light floaty fabrics. Sheer tunics are also great to wear over beachwear.

  • Maxi Dresses
For days on the beach or for running around in the park a maxi dress gives your legs freedom and is cool and comfortable and a change from your usual leisure wear. Choose one made of a slightly stretchy fabric and in a colour or pattern which doesn’t show sticky finger prints! White or very pale pastels are probably not your best choice.

  • Dresses
For more dressed up days out, you might want to feel a bit more stylish, yet you still need something comfortable and  which doesn’t stain or need to be dry-cleaned. Scuba type fabric is perfect, holds its shape and has a comfortable stretch. A skater style with a fitted waist and an A-line knee length skirt means that you’ll be cool and comfortable all day, while having the freedom to chase around.
