After months of shivering in coats and woollies summer’s here and it’s time to enjoy some new summer looks. This year dresses were really big news on the Catwalk, whether you like bright or pastel colours, you’ll find something you love. Here are our top five ways to help you choose your favourite pieces.

1.  Cool Prints
If you always choose plain colours look again. This seasons prints and patterns, even florals are discreet and really attractive so forget aprons and curtains and think sophisticated and glamorous! Look out for tea dresses in these cute prints. Originally popular in the forties, when money was short and one or two dresses was a summer wardrobe, tea dresses are having a revival. Look out too for spots and stripes.
2. Maximum Style
Maxi dresses are perfect for the really hot weather. Super-comfy and yet really stylish.  We have just added a selection to our store in both plain fabrics and prints. An essential item for summer.

3. Adaptable
If you have a limited budget and several different occasions this summer a couple of nice dresses will be ideal if you choose carefully. For work and day to day wear a print in a small design where you can match shoes and bag to one of the colours and also to a jacket, shawl and cardigan is ideal- same dress, different look! Another summery look is spots or stripes, ideal for holiday and beach-wear. Whichever you choose pick the right size that fits you – not too tight or too loose, for a smart look. Avoid frills and bows unless you’re looking for a really dressed up wedding guest style.

4. Easy Fabrics
Opt for fabrics where you don’t have time to spend at the ironing board! For a clean, fresh look choose cotton and man-made fibres and avoid silk and linen and of course dry-clean only.

Finally, if you look after your dresses they’ll see you into the autumn, worn with a jacket and also be there for you to wear again in summer 2017.
